The Catholic Committee on Girl Scouting oversees the religious emblem program and related Catholic spiritual activities for Catholic girls and young women in in Girl Scout troops in the Archdiocese of New Orleans. The program is provided by the National Catholic Committee on Girl Scouts and Camp Fire. In a particular way, the committee liaisons with those units hosted by Catholic parishes, schools, and organizations.
The Catholic relgious emblem program includs the awards God Is Love, Family of God, I Live My Faith, Mary The First Disciple, and The Spirit Alive. Adults may receive the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Award and the St. Ann Award for service to scouting and youth ministry.
In addition to the religious emblem program, the committee sponsors an annual Catholic Girl Scout Retreat for Juniors and Cadettes, a Day of Reflection for Brownies, and an annual pilgrimage to a local Catholic church or shrine.
An annual Catholic Scouting Awards Ceremony at St. Loius Cathedral is presented jointly with the Catholic Committee on Boy Scouting.
