Welcome to the online presence of the CYO/Youth & Young Adult Ministry Office for the Archdiocese of New Orleans. This site offers many resources and opportunities for those working with junior high youth, high school youth, and young adults to better engage them with their Catholic faith through the vibrant faith community that is the Church. The site is organized into the following major areas: events and programs of the office, resources and support for youth and young adult ministry, and a personalized account area for youth ministers that includes insurance management, discussion forums, and directories. All areas contain downloadable documents and links to further resources.

2010 Summer Trip Survey

In the years alternating NCYC (even-numbered years), our office has sponsored a summer trip for interested parish youth groups. Recent trips include San Antonio in 2006 and Walt Disney World in 2008. For 2010 we are considering either a return to San Antonio, a trip to Chicago, or to Universal Studios Orlando. In the past the trip has served two important outreaches and purposes: 1) to provide small youth groups unable alone to fill a motorcoach with the chance to travel, 2) to provide newer youth ministers with a guided experience of trip planning. In doing so both the community life of a parish youth ministry program and the training of adult leaders is enhanced. We are beginning planning for a trip in late July 2010 and need to know 1) if your parish is interested in general, and 2) which of the above three destinations you most prefer. Network Support Meetings

Each spring we hold Network Support Meetings in various regions of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. These gatherings are opportunities for parish youth ministers and other involved adults to meet, pray, share the successes and challenges of their ministries, exchange ideas, and receive program updates from archdiocesan staff. Please mark your date on your calendar for 6:30 PM as follows:

February 4—East Jefferson at Our Lady of Divine Providence

February 9—River Parishes (St. Charles and St. John) at St. Charles Borromeo

March 9— City of New Orleans at St. Gabriel

March 16—Westbank (Algiers, Plaquemine, and West Jefferson) -location TBA

March 23—Northshore (St. Tammy and Washington) at St Margaret Mary
